We provide year ’round religious education for children and adults of all ages.
Childrens’ Church School meets during the 10am service, after the children have participated in the opening activities of the service. The classes typically follow the same general themes and stories as the scriptures for worship. Each class is led by a team of teachers and supported with volunteers from the whole church.
Vacation Bible School typically is held in the evenings of a week during the summer, for ages 5-12. Watch for the announcement in May for details.
Check out our opportunities for Youth on the MHUMC Youth page.
Adult Sunday Class
Adults can participate in a study that follows the Sunday Bible readings. This is similar to what we offer our children, but at a grown-up level. The program, “Living the Good News,” is led by Kristen Johnson, on Sunday mornings, 8:30am-9:30pm, in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Kristen if you are interested in participating, so she may prepare accordingly.
Armchair Theologians have two options:
- An interfaith group (associated with Interfaith CommUNITY of South County, or ICSC) meets the 1st Tuesday of the month.
- The MHUMC Armchair Theologians meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Contact John Braslin for time and location of each group. Join these open-ended group opportunities to share and discuss how theology affects our lives. Gather with friends of many faiths to exchange, share, and test our experiences and opinions along our faith journey together.
For those wishing additional study or research, the group has developed an extensive Book List For The Curious.
