Our 2023 Lenten adult book study will take place every Sunday after the Worship service during Lent. We will be reading “Give Up Something Bad for Lent” by James W. Moore. Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent.  This year Ash Wednesday is February 22.  Ash Wednesday emphasizes confronting our own mortality and confessing our sin before God within the community of faith. We will be celebrating this day with neighbor churches Advent Lutheran and St. John the Divine Episcopal, in a shared service.  It will be Wednesday, February 22, at 7:00pm, at Advent Lutheran, 16870 Murphy Ave, Morgan Hill. The service will include imposition of ashes.  Ashes are a sign of our mortality and repentance.  In the Bible, sprinkling oneself with ashes was traditionally a sign of one’s sorrow for the death of Christ.Read More →
