Worship service – November 28, 2021 – “Restore Us, O God: Hope”

During Advent we are waiting for the birth of Jesus, the incarnate God. It is a joyful time, but there are many people who suffer and who need hope. Hope is different from wishful thinking. Our wishes are about what we want. Hope is about what God is doing in our relationships and in the world.

Our services are now being held with in-person attendance, at 10 a.m. Sunday morning.  Today’s service is provided below in its entirety in video format.

Our Scripture Reading is from Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19 NRSV. This Psalm is a prayer on behalf of the tribes of Israel, who are feeling hopeless and beaten-down, requesting God “restore us” that “we may be saved.”

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is the one true Church whose faith we support with our prayers, our presence, our giving, our witness and our service.
Our offering is given to the mission and ministry of MHUMC.  Remember our gifts come from us, as the people of God, for the work of God, to the Glory of God in the world.

I invite you to give generously, as we worship God through sharing our gifts, tithes, and offerings.
