Worship Service – March 22, 2020

As Christ welcomes all, all are welcomed!  May the love of God, the grace of Christ, the friendship and peace of the Holy Spirit, be with you.

If you are participating in this worship experience, know that you are welcomed by a God who loves you more than you will ever know or even understand.

Christ is our Light, even during the darkness of this time of isolation, social distancing and sheltering in place.

Follow the entire service in the video, or go at your own pace with portions of the service provided below.

Call to Worship

When the world is dark and full of hate and fear, when we cannot see God
Turn on the light of Christ.
When we cannot find our way back to love and peace
Turn on the light of Christ.
When our vision dims due to the darkness within
Turn on the light of Christ.
Christ opens our eyes with the gift of sight.
For the light of the world is Jesus Christ.

Come now and let us worship the one who brings sight to the blind and light to a world struggling in fear and darkness.

Opening hymn:  “Great is Thy Faithfulness” (United Methodist Hymnal #140)

In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus heals a man born blind, saying that his blindness was not a result of sin, but was so that God’s works could be revealed in him.  Read  these words from John 9:1-11 (from The Message).

Our offering is given to the mission and ministry of MHUMC.  Find out more on our Giving page.

Pastor Patrick’s message is “Christ is Our Light.” Listen to it here:

Closing hymn:  “Open Our Eyes, Lord”  (The Faith We Sing #2086)
